WHO: Teams of 2 = adult/kid or kid/kid. (at least one member must be student grade K-12)

WHEN: Sunday, March 4th, 1:00 p.m. Recreation Race (walk or jog) or 2:30 p.m. Competitive Race (jog or run)
WHAT: Competing in teams of 2 (kid/kid or adult/kid), contestants race around a 1 mile cross country course that includes up to 8 fun-filled stations. The clue cards provided at each station directs the team to perform a task (game, relay, obstacle course, etc.), before proceeding to the next station. The team that completes the tasks and reaches the finish line with the fastest overall time is declared the winner. Contestants should be prepared to get a little dirty and wet - it's part of the fun!
To ensure fairness and safety of all involved, some of the tasks are slightly modified for female and youth participants. Charity tokens can be purchased at any time prior to start of the race. Teams will receive a 1 minute charity token deduction for every additional $5.00 submitted (up to 4 minutes).
The course layout is spectator friendly, to allow family and friends to tag along and take photos for the scrap book.This is a rain or shine event!Racers & spectators can also sign up for the Victory Party ... food & drinks. It's an opportunity to share stories and celebrate with family, friends and other racers!

WHO: The race is for everyone – boys and girls – runners, joggers and walkers - pee wees to adults. The race is designed for teams of 2 (kid/kid or adult/kid), at least one member must be a student grades K-12. Teams can choose recreation race at 1:00 pm (those who prefer to walk or jog) or the competitive race at 2:30 pm (those who prefer to jog or run).
AWARDS: Every participant who crosses the finish line gets an award to recognize their accomplishment. Special awards are given to the winners of each grade division (determined by grade of youngest team member): Grades K-4 Division, Grades 5-12 Division. The awards will be presented at the main stage, shortly after each race.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Touring all 30 NFL cities in 2012. The top 25 teams and top 10 grade division teams, from every city race, qualify for the National Championship Race and a chance to win $2,000!
BENEFITING: Benefiting the Active 30 Family initiative which works to improve student academic performance through activities that can be implemented at home, such as, conducting 30 minutes of physical activity, 30 minutes of reading a book, and 30 minutes of healthy eating each day, at home.
